The bad news: There's no new trailer yet for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Per director J.J. Abrams at D23, it's just not ready yet.
The good news: Disney didpresent new footage at the Walt Disney Studios presentation Saturday -- and, folks, you're going to freak out.
The sizzle reel, which was shown in the room only, began with a montage of past Star Wars movies before cutting to footage of Rise of Skywalker.

We saw Finn, Rey, and Poe in an arid landscape, looking at what looks like camps in the distance, and shots of ships hovering in space. We got a peek of Finn and new character Jannah (Naomi Ackie) in a ship, and glimpses of other characters like C-3PO and (sob) Leia.
We cut to scenes of Rey wielding her signature blue lightsaber, and Kylo carrying his, and the two of them dueling on what looks like a rundown ship, surrounded by splashing water.
And then, the shot that sent screams through Hall D23: Rey in Sith mode, in a hooded cloak, holding what appears to be Darth Maul's red double-bladed lightsaber.
What? What??
Naturally, Disney was notgoing to explain, so we're just going to have to speculate on what's happening here. And then, of course, find our for ourselves when the film opens Dec. 20.
